Inherited patterns: about the self-discovery group

So many of the decisions inside us were never truly ours. The way we think about money, how we react in conflict, what we believe about ourselves — much of it was handed to us before we ever had a say. In the self-discovery group, we turn toward these quiet patterns together.

The patterns we never chose

Most of our patterns took shape generations ago. A grandmother who lived through hard times handled money in her own way — and that relationship with money often passes down without anyone ever naming it. In psychology this is called a transgenerational pattern: an emotional and behavioural inheritance carried across generations. You don’t need to know the exact story to feel its effect on you today.

Money, family, inherited beliefs

In the group we work with exactly these themes. What is your relationship with money — anxiety, guilt, or a quiet sense that there’s never quite enough? Which family patterns repeat in you, the ones you once swore you’d never carry on? And what are the limiting beliefs — the soft “I’m not enough”, “this won’t work out for me” — that steer you from the background? We look at them slowly, one at a time.

Why in a group, and how I hold the space

Because other people’s stories hold up a mirror. When someone names a pattern you thought was yours alone, it’s freeing to realise you’re not the only one living it. We don’t hand out advice here — we’re simply present together, and that shared presence often reaches deeper than anything you’d get to on your own.

I’m a psychologist, and that background matters here: I know how to hold a space where you can speak safely. Still, I want to be clear that this is self-discovery work, not psychotherapy. We don’t work with diagnoses, but with whatever you bring — at your own pace, only as deep as you’re ready to go. The group meets once a month, in a continuous series of sessions, and starts once at least five people have signed up; you can join in person in Budapest or online by video call.

If you feel it’s time to look at your patterns — not alone, but in a safe little community — you can reach out here. We’ll see together whether it’s right for you.

Sound bowl sessions and soul journeys are well-being practices, not healthcare — they do not replace medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
